A young ship captain Dantes was falsely incriminated and sent to prison.  Vowing to take revenge after breaking out of jail, Dantes began to learn everything he could from a fellow elderly inmate named Mr. M.  However, Mr. M was suddenly overcome by illness and , with his last breath, gifted Dantes a treasure map.  Dantès decided to switch places with the deceased and crawled into the gunnysack to pass himself off as the corpse.  After a narrow escape, Dantes was able to flee from jail at last.
 
When Dantes returned to his old home, he found out that his father had passed away and his wife had gone missing.  He decided to disguise himself as a priest and use diamonds to ensnare his former neighbour, Cad the tailor.  Brimming with greed, Cad lost control of himself and slid right into Dantes’ vindictive trap!
